PHASE ONE:
Relief of Immediate Pain
The most common symptom of our patients is pain. Usually, the pain affects your activities, your work & your lifestyle. We understand that you are likely seeking relief of pain as soon as possible. Although relieving your pain is also our goal, we also seek to eliminate the underlying cause of the problem so that your symptoms do not return.
At the early stage of an injury, there is inflammation and swelling, and the initial treatment is directed toward reducing the inflammation & decreasing the pain. This begins the healing process. The initial treatment includes ice therapy, gentle and safe electro-therapy, cold laser therapy, spinal decompression therapy and spinal, joint & muscle mobilization.
PHASE TWO:
Restoration
After the pain has been addressed, we concentrate on restoring normal joint & muscle function, decreasing scar tissue and fibrosis, and increasing motion in your joints.
PHASE THREE:
Rehabilitation
Once you are out of pain and you have a more normal range of motion, we begin the final phase to rehabilitate and strengthen your previously injured muscles, ligaments & tendons. We continue with flexibility training and mobilization of course, but also focus on strengthening and conditioning as well. We have you perform isotonic and isometric exercises. You will also be given a home exercise program.
PHASE FOUR:
Maintenance
Patients entering the Maintenance Phase of Care will take all of the knowledge they have acquired in Phases One through Three and apply it. Our goal is to provide our patients with the tools they need to maintain their health, thereby avoiding a recurrence of injury. We will teach you how to apply this knowledge on a day-to-day basis and integrate it into your lives.
